Prenatal Testing

Prenatal testing involves a range of procedures aimed at assessing the health and development of a fetus during pregnancy. Routine tests include ultrasound scans to monitor fetal growth, detect abnormalities, and determine fetal position. Genetic screening, such as the first-trimester combined screening and cell-free fetal DNA testing, helps assess the risk of chromosomal abnormalities like Down syndrome.

Additional tests, like amniocentesis and chorionic villus sampling, provide diagnostic information on genetic disorders or birth defects if a higher risk is identified. Blood tests check for conditions like gestational diabetes and anemia, ensuring maternal health and fetal well-being. Throughout pregnancy, these tests help healthcare providers monitor and manage any potential complications, ensuring the best possible outcomes for both mother and baby.
